ServiceNet outlines shelter and warming-center capacity; reports housing placements and nightly warming hours

The year-round shelter has 40 beds; the warming shelter does not provide beds and opens most nights at about 10 p.m., closing around 8 a.m. Forbush told the council they have not hit a maximum capacity under building code nor turned anyone away for lack of space. She also said ServiceNet helps individuals with housing packets and reported 23 people were housed with that assistance this past year.
Council members asked clarifying questions about demographics and hours. Rosa Tobango asked which age groups represent the largest share; Forbush said most clients are 35–55, with roughly 20–25% youth and 20–25% elderly. Brian Whitman asked about volunteer support and Forbush described limited food/coffee offerings and occasional earlier openings during severe weather.
