Mandeville council hears second-quarter finance report, told audit extension denied and city on non-compliance list

Finance Director Jessica Farno briefed the council and said that, overall, city funds were tracking correctly. Farno reported that sales tax revenue was slightly ahead of target and attributed that bump to digital sales.
Farno read an email to the council saying the audit extension request had been denied and that the city was on the Louisiana Legislative Auditors' non-compliance list. Mayor Clay Madden said staff and department directors have begun working on the budget and that a draft will be provided to the council for review on July 1. Mayor Madden also commended Farno for her work on the accounts.
The meeting opened at 6:00 p.m. under the direction of Councilman Jason Zuckerman and, after the finance discussion and the audit notice, was adjourned at 6:38 p.m. by a motion from Councilwoman Cynthia Strong-Thompson, seconded by Councilman Kevin Vogeltanz, which passed unanimously.
The council did not receive public comment at the meeting. The next procedural step reported was the planned handoff of the budget draft to the council on July 1 for review.
