Council approves two May 9 road closures for local events

A staff member requested closure of Wickless Main in front of Frisco's from South Buchanan to South Green Street, including intersections, from approximately 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. for an event on May 9. "I just need that closed off, from, like, 3PM to 10PM," the staff member said. The council seconded the motion and voted in favor.
Council members also approved closing a block of Fair Street (from Bonn to Hickory) for a high-school track meet on May 9 from about 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., with access allowed for local traffic. The staff member said this is consistent with past practice for school events.
Both motions were seconded and carried with voice votes.
The closures were approved without additional conditions recorded in the meeting notes.
