City Manager Terry Wilson reported the city is in a strong financial position Thursday, saying year-to-date revenues total about $1.4 million, an increase he described as roughly 28% (about $322,000) over the same period last year.
"Year to date revenue totals is 1,400,000, which is up over, 28%," Wilson said in his report. He said sales tax rose by nearly $89,000 and municipal court revenue more than doubled compared with the same time last year. Permits and licenses had reached about 51% of the annual budget.
Wilson also highlighted code-enforcement activity (20 tickets and 14 warnings) and housing-market movement, with four properties listed for sale in March priced about $75,000 to $220,000. He said the citys rodent removal program removed 13 nuisance animals in recent weeks.
Wilson reported the city was awarded a $25,000 grant from the Saint Louis Area Violence Prevention Commission to run a midnight-basketball program from May through July. More information about the program and distribution of funds was not provided in the transcript.
The chair and board offered thanks to staff; no budget amendments or further funding votes were recorded in the transcript.
