Fire and police give year-end activity reports; administrator outlines water infrastructure progress and equipment replacement

Rob Geuntter addressed the council during the public-comment portion to thank officials and reflect on 33 years working with the village. Geuntter said his records show he contributed to securing more than $6.5 million in funding for the village over his involvement since 1992, including about $1.3 million since 2020, supporting police, fire and street improvements.
Administrator Joe Miller told the council that Maysville Water will provide replacement scales at no cost to the village to replace broken equipment, and that the village is restarting its inventory process because the existing inventory is outdated. Miller also said work on a water infrastructure project is underway and that he will report additional details at a future meeting.
Fire Department representative Landon Duhamel presented the department’s activity report, noting total patient transports for the year were approximately 600 and that activity increased after mid-September when additional service coverage began. Duhamel acknowledged top volunteer responders, listing Captain Josh Bryan along with Mike Nunley and Tim Lantz, and reviewed department expenditures for equipment and uniforms.
Police Chief Mark Ross reported 138 call records for December and provided an update on auxiliary officers and year-end staffing numbers. Water/Street representative Wesley Wiseman had no report at the meeting.
Under unfinished business, Kevin gave an update on Greenhouse Road properties and said he would coordinate with Don Madden to set a date. The minutes also record that Taylor has begun applying for the Spring Grant through the Straker Foundation.
