Mayor Barbara J. Lloyd presided over the Village of South Zanesville’s regular meeting on Jan. 5, 2026, administering the Oath of Office to newly sworn and re-elected officials and overseeing the council’s organizational business.
The mayor administered oaths to Danny Wiseman, Bo Coconis, Greg Gibson and Tim Adams; each affirmed the oath by responding “aye.” Josh Bryan was sworn in as captain of the Village of South Zanesville Fire Department, and John Mears II and Tim Lantz were sworn in as lieutenants for the department.
Following the swearing-in, Council member Ed Harlan nominated Greg Gibson for Council President. With no other nominations, Gibson was selected as Council President. The council reviewed committee assignments and asked members to notify the mayor of any conflicts or necessary adjustments.
Council also handled routine administrative business. Members voted to accept the minutes of the Dec. 8, 2025 regular meeting and to approve the fiscal officer’s bank reconciliation report for November; on the recorded motions Council Member Danny Wiseman was noted as abstaining on several votes.
The meeting record shows the council present for roll call included Paul Lowe, Tim Adams, Ed Harlan, Danny Wiseman, Bo Coconis and Greg Gibson.
The new council leadership and committee rosters will guide assignments and oversight for the coming term; no additional organizational votes were recorded at this meeting.
