Selectmen accept minutes, approve small purchases and note department updates
Summary
At its Feb. 23 meeting the Board accepted Feb. 9 minutes, approved small building/office purchases, noted Meetinghouse repair scheduling and a Fire Department pancake breakfast on March 8, and recorded a draft Clean Diesel grant application.
The Board of Selectmen accepted meeting minutes from Feb. 9, 2026. Amy Lewis moved to accept the minutes; Jen Roberts seconded the motion; Amy and Jen voted in favor and the motion carried.
Buildings and Grounds approved ordering a new toilet seat for the downstairs bathroom and noted that Meetinghouse work cannot begin until April; Chris Gaherty will arrange insulation measures to limit heat loss. Stearns Septic pumped the system at the Highway Garage/Fire Department and recommended another pump before spring. The Fire Department is ordering replacement turnout gear damaged in a spill and will hold a pancake breakfast on March 8 from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m.
Administrative updates included a draft Clean Diesel grant application and a request from Deputy Administrative Assistant Jill Hastings to purchase a new office chair; Jen Roberts and Amy Lewis approved the chair purchase. The Board signed the LSPC household/hazardous waste contract and recorded correspondence including a letter of complaint and a note that Springfield does not have a disabled exemption.
