Township discusses hiring lobbyist to pursue 2027 appropriations for Camp Meeting Stabilization

Manager Tom Garrett told the board the township has discussed retaining the same lobbyist who assisted FTMA in obtaining grants. Garrett reported the township has received $70,000 in grants to prepare design work for the Camp Meeting Stabilization project and said the board could benefit from a lobbyist assembling narratives and pursuing appropriations planned for 2027.
Jason Orsini outlined the lobbyist's costs and suggested that while on retainer the firm could also support other township needs, including recreation water facilities. Orsini said the lobbyist has a State team and would be available to meet with the board at a future workshop. The board did not take formal action at the workshop to retain a lobbyist.
Next steps: staff may schedule a meeting with the lobbyist at a future workshop for the board to consider a retainer or engagement.
