After a brief public hearing for ordinance 66-27 (an amendment to schedule F: no-parking zones to include a portion of North Pines Drive in District 2), the commission approved the ordinance as part of a global motion. Commissioner Stefan Jones moved to adopt several remaining action items by omnibus motion; the clerk recorded the omnibus passage as carrying with 12 in support and none opposed.
Later in the meeting, the commission considered resolution 46, a symbolic resolution opposing the Louisiana legislature’s congressional redistricting. Commissioners spoke briefly for and against the resolution; the commission adopted resolution 46, and the clerk recorded four commissioners in opposition. Several new ordinances also were introduced by title (66-29 through 66-36), covering zoning changes, the potential sale of parish property, expanded use of parish property for a community health center, and changes to procedures for adjudicated property sales.
