Findlay Township supervisors on May 13 approved a conditional-use permit allowing Hudson Trading Group LLC to add light manufacturing inside its existing 63,550-square-foot building at 102 Technology Drive in the RIDC Park West business park.
Assistant Manager Brandon Stanick summarized his April 29 review, saying Hudson Trading seeks to expand operations to include light manufacturing on about 4.76 acres and that no structural modifications to the building are planned. Justin Nadi, president of Hudson Trading Group LLC, told the board the company handles spices, herbs, seeds and vegetables, receives most product by ship or rail and operates from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
“Everything operates solely within the building from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and our only noise would be the motors on vacuum containers,” Nadi said.
Supervisor Thomas Gallant asked about potential noise and dust. Nadi replied the operation would be contained inside the facility and described only limited motor noise from vacuum equipment. Following the presentation, Gallant moved to approve the conditional use per the Planning Commission recommendation and township engineer review; Raymond Chappell seconded and the motion carried, 3 ayes.
The approval allows Hudson Trading to add light manufacturing to its existing wholesale distribution operation at the site. The board did not record any special operational conditions beyond the standard review and the engineer’s comments. The board returned to regular session after the public hearing and recorded the formal vote.
