The Middle River City Council on June 10 approved a package of public-works items: it accepted Agassiz Asphalt's bid of $8,200 to repair streets at two locations and at River Ave and 2nd Street and discussed longer-term watermain upgrades and a potential wellhouse funding application.
Public works reported plans to replace an existing single water line on 5th Street and River Ave with dual lines and to install new curb stops; estimates for the watermain project were said to be forthcoming. The council voted to accept Agassiz Asphalt's bid; the motion was made by Josh Veselka and seconded by Morgan Ness and recorded as passed "all in favor."
Engineer Dustin Fanfulik informed the council that he submitted the wellhouse project to be listed on the Intended Use Plan to make it eligible for potential funding; council members noted that listing does not obligate the city to proceed but may open funding opportunities. The meeting minutes also record other maintenance updates (walking path, lagoon road work, valve box estimates) and contractor assignments.
