UN says Gaza aid operations remain constrained by access and funding shortfalls

The briefing said partners assisted more than 100,970 families affected by incidents across the Gaza Strip during the last week and provided over 243,000 medical consultations at more than 200 service points. The spokesperson reported a rise in waterborne diseases and other communicable illnesses, including more than 18,000 new cases of chickenpox and other skin conditions in the latest reporting period.
The UN reiterated its position that civilians and civilian infrastructure must be protected under international humanitarian law and highlighted persistent barriers to delivering tents, food, medical supplies and shelter materials. The spokesperson said that limited funding and constrained access continue to hamper response efforts and protection needs remain acute.
