Templeton approves fire department budget projections, roster and membership dues

The Templeton City Council on Jan. 5 unanimously accepted proposed budget projections for the Templeton Community Fire Department for fiscal year 2026-27 and approved the department roster and payment of membership dues to the Templeton Area Development Corporation.
Fire Chief Duane Irlbeck presented the department's annual run figures for 2024, reporting "34 fires, 32 EMS, 3 weather, 69 total calls," and reviewed the department's fiscal-year ending June 30, 2025 actual income and expenses along with the current-year budget and proposed projections for 2026-27. Joe Irlbeck moved to accept the FY 26/27 proposed budget projections; Mark Bauer seconded the motion, which carried with all present voting in favor.
Council then approved the Templeton Community Fire Department roster. Tasha Goecke moved and Cory Drees seconded to approve the roster; the motion passed unanimously. The council also approved payment of membership dues to the Templeton Area Development Corporation on a motion by Mark Bauer, seconded by Cory Drees.
The approvals were recorded as unanimous votes of the members present. The council made no additional amendments or conditions to the fire department budget in the minutes.
The council's actions leave the department roster and budget projections in place for the coming fiscal year; no immediate follow-up tasks were recorded in the minutes.
