Select Board confirms dozens of committee appointments and accepts departing town manager’s remarks

The Wolfeboro Select Board on April 1 approved a large slate of annual appointments to town boards and committees, adopted two committee eliminations and heard departing Town Manager James Pineo offer farewell remarks.
Appointments approved included members to the Agricultural Commission, Conservation Commission, Economic Development Committee, Energy Committee, Heritage Commission, Milfoil Committee, Wolfeboro Waters Committee and others as listed in the meeting packet. Motions to appoint the listed individuals were moved by Linda Murray or Brian Deshaies as appropriate and approved by unanimous votes recorded in the minutes.
Governance changes: the board voted to eliminate the Cable TV Advisory Committee and the Charette Committee (motions by Mr. Deshaies and Mrs. Murray, respectively; both approved 5-0). The Select Board also reviewed committee-assignment guidance related to a petition warrant article limiting the number of committees SB members may serve on, and provided an updated list of members’ committee assignments for the coming year.
Town Manager remarks: James Pineo thanked the board and community for the past 10 years, said he looks forward to “going home” and received an applause and standing ovation from those in attendance.
