The RSU 23 board heard updates Sept. 19 that maintenance across the district’s three schools is proceeding well and that a high-school roof project has been completed $29,000 under budget.
Peter Flaherty reported routine maintenance and a completed server upgrade; scoreboards have been installed and are operational, and tree trimming work has been completed. Kevin Girard, who reported on the roof project, said the installation went smoothly and praised the contractor.
Flaherty also noted an outstanding issue about handicapped parking at the football field. After contacting public works and the police chief, the board learned the parking commissioner oversees the parking designation; Kevin Girard said he would meet with the parking commissioner to discuss the matter.
On technology, the Technology Committee did not meet but Pam Pothier told the board the school year’s start went well and the district anticipates participation in the MLTI device program that will provide student devices.
No formal action was taken at the meeting on these facilities or technology items; they were reported as committee updates.
