Findlay supervisors agree to shift employee July 4 holiday and move November meeting

Manager Tom Garrett raised two scheduling items during the Jan. 22 workshop: the township’s employee holiday for Independence Day and the date of the November regular meeting.
Garrett explained that with July 4, 2026 falling on a Saturday the normal employee holiday would be observed on Friday, July 3, but with fireworks planned for July 3 the township was asked to consider shifting the employee holiday to Tuesday, July 6. After discussion, the board agreed to make July 6 the employee holiday.
The board also addressed its regular November meeting date, which falls on Nov. 11 (Veterans Day). The board agreed to reschedule the November Regular Meeting to Thursday, Nov. 12.
No formal motions or recorded roll-call votes were noted in the transcript for the scheduling changes; the decisions were recorded as board agreement during the workshop meeting.
