Warrington introduces Angela Benner as new township manager; board thanks interim manager

Warrington Township formally introduced Angela Benner as its new township manager at the Aug. 27 Board of Supervisors meeting. Chair praised Benner’s credentials and said she will "begin the process of restoring financial sustainability and enhancing the safety and well-being of our residents and families." Board members and staff offered commendations to outgoing interim manager Lee Greenberg for his leadership during the transition.

Benner spoke briefly and said she was "very grateful and excited about this opportunity" and that she looked forward to building relationships with the board, staff, residents and businesses as she settles into the role. She also thanked Lee Greenberg for helping with a two‑day transition that included briefings on ongoing projects.

The board framed Benner’s early priorities as financial review and organizational stability: supervisors discussed an initial exploratory financial audit and reconciliation work already underway, including a phase‑one report due Sept. 10 and an anticipated phase‑two scope and estimate if the board elects to proceed. Members said they expect Benner to work on capital‑project oversight, internal reconciliations and staff coordination.

What to expect next: staff indicated the exploratory financial report will be presented at a September meeting and that Benner and staff will follow up on outstanding capital, procurement and records‑retention items referenced during the meeting.
