Thorp approves three-year police labor contract, removes longevity pay

The Thorp City Council approved a three-year labor agreement with the Professional Police Officers Association (WPPA) at its Sept. 12 meeting.
Council discussed two contract changes highlighted in the agenda: elimination of longevity pay and extending the contract term from two years to three years with a new wage scale proposed for 2023–2025. The personnel committee had previously reviewed and recommended the agreement.
Alderperson Korn moved to approve the three-year labor agreement as presented; Alderperson Rosemeyer seconded. The motion passed unanimously, 4–0.
The minutes record no additional amendments or recorded dissent. The agreement will be implemented per its terms and personnel/staff will carry out administrative steps required to effect pay and term changes.
