At the Oct. 8, 2025 Village of Granton board meeting, the clerk and treasurer outlined fiscal steps ahead as the village prepares next year’s budget and awaits an audit update.
The clerk reported that the Public Service Commission (PSC) 2024 annual report was submitted and said Great Lakes Community Action Partnership will continue helping the village, including work on water and sewer budgets. The clerk said the village will contact the county about the upcoming tax season and delinquent water payments, and that the clerk finished a required one-hour training with the Wisconsin Elections Commission. The clerk also said the village is waiting for an update from Hawkings/Ash about the audit and whether additional information is required.
The treasurer told the board that third-quarter utility bills have been sent and payments are coming in. Staff are reconciling QuickBooks records with bank balances and assembling data to determine next year’s budget figures. A number of line items presented in the transcript were incomplete or garbled; those specific line-item figures are not specified in this report.
The treasurer reported the following account balances: General $378,423.27; CDBG Public Facilities $90.00; MM $30,615.14; Block Housing $21,594.58; Wastewater Equipment Fund $4,388.73.
The reports set the groundwork for the village’s fiscal planning. No motions or formal votes on budget items were made at the meeting; the village awaits the audit update and further budget preparation work.
