The Town of Green Lake board reviewed its 2026 road project plan and received a detailed public-works update at its March 9 meeting.
The published project list included paving Prairie Road, crack-filling on Prairie Road south of Miller Road, North Kearley Road and McAfee Road, and chip-sealing on Utley Road to Tichora to County Road A, Fiegel Road, and Boelter Road. The minutes do not record a formal vote to approve a contract or funding source at this meeting; the road plan was presented as part of routine project planning.
Maintenance staff member Dan reported several completed and planned maintenance activities: removal of a dead tree at Phelps Cemetery with stump grinding planned for summer; removal of a damaged tree at Kearley’s; brush cleanup on Kahl Road; brushing of Fiegel Road with limb trimming to follow using a bucket truck; replacement of chipper blades after striking metal in a limb; pickup repairs (including replacement of a heat door) performed at Homen Ford; and repairs to truck 99 including passenger rear spring replacement, hinge repair and reinforcement of box rails. Town-hall toilets were replaced after a rental-related issue. Staff also installed weight-limit signs to match county signage.
Dan reported the town used approximately 120 tons of salt this winter. Officials noted the 2026–2027 salt contracts will be released mid-March and that salt-shed inspections are scheduled in March. The county will spray ditches for noxious weeds but will not spray roads around the lakes.
Fire-department billing was raised as an item at the last fire-department meeting and will be discussed again at the next fire-department meeting; no town action on billing was taken at this meeting.
The board did not provide detailed funding breakdowns or adopt contracts at the March 9 meeting. Further action on road contracts or large repairs would require separate motions and are not recorded in these minutes.
