Road Agent Doug Glover told the Selectmen Dec. 1 that a culvert at the intersection of Pearl Lake Road and Creamery Pond Road has failed and will require replacement next summer with a 7‑foot pipe.
Glover asked Town Engineer Red McCarthy to begin the permitting process and said he hopes to upsize the replacement and include an emergency bypass pipe because water has been running over the road at that location. Glover noted the highway department currently has a 4‑foot pipe in stock but that is insufficient for the needed upsizing.
The board directed the engineer to begin permitting work so the town can bid and complete the replacement next construction season. No funding plan or schedule was provided at the meeting.
The item remains in the planning stage until permitting is complete and a funding source is identified.
