Select Board hears Perkins Lane abutter letter, reviews highway barn plan and raises safety concerns at Temple Cabins

Caisse told the board an application will go to the Temple Historic District Commission to review the proposed new highway barn, which will house highway equipment; he said he hopes to have pictures to present at town meeting. The board did not vote on the barn during the Select Board meeting; the THD Commission will consider that application at its next meeting.
On housing and public-safety matters, Caisse reported he met with Fire Chief George Clark and Fire Marshal Marc Prindiville about three non-compliant heaters and improperly installed hot water heaters at the Temple Cabins. The owner is cooperating, and the board said it will follow up with permits and inspections. Caisse also observed that Temple does not currently require remodel permits and suggested the town consider adopting such permits for public-safety reasons.
The board moved its next meeting from Election Day to Monday, March 9, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. in the Town Hall main room. The public minutes note a non-public session occurred but do not provide details.
Caisse said the board will discuss Perkins Lane further with legal counsel before town meeting. No formal votes were recorded on Perkins Lane, the THD application, or the Cabin inspections during this meeting.
