Summary
In his first formal report six days into the job, the interim superintendent described a listening-focused entry plan, scheduled interviews with central-office and building staff, and said two leadership searches (pupil personnel director and MG Good principal) have drawn 14 and 27 applicants respectively, with finalists expected for committee approval at the next meeting.

The interim superintendent delivered a brief first report to the Middleborough School Committee, saying he has launched an entry plan that includes interviews with central-office staff, building leadership and town stakeholders.
"It's been a whopping six days," he said, adding he has set up interviews and a listening tour that will include police and fire chiefs and the town manager as the district gathers perspectives on priorities. He said the entry process will continue into the fall and include classroom and building visits.
The superintendent described two active leadership searches. For the pupil personnel director position, the district received 14 applications and plans first-round interviews mid-month; the superintendent said he expects to meet finalists after returning from a superintendents' conference and hopes to bring a final candidate to the committee for approval at the next meeting. For the MG Good principal search, which he said is being led by Tim McLaughlin, the district received 27 applicants and is assembling an interview committee with first-round interviews scheduled for the 21st.
A committee member asked whether any internal candidates had applied; the superintendent replied there were not among the current applicant pools but said some former employees might seek to return.
The superintendent also noted the district is using a standing Google document for weekly correspondence to the committee so members can review updates and prior notes. He said he will circulate the weekly report and continue outreach while attending an upcoming conference.
The report closed with an explicit next step: the superintendent expects to present finalists for the leadership searches and, if appropriate, a final candidate for committee approval at the committee's next meeting.
