State lawmaker presents $150,000 watershed grant to Warrington for Palomino Farms outfall work

State representative Brian Monroe visited the Warrington Board of Supervisors meeting Sept. 24 to present a $150,000 watershed restoration and protection grant for work on the Palomino Farms outfall channel.

Monroe said the funding will cover part of the cost to rehabilitate the outfall channel, with the project’s goals to maintain channel flow, address erosion affecting abutting residential properties and prevent sediment from entering the drainage system. He said the grant is structured so funds are typically disbursed upon project completion and praised township staff and the grant writer Ivy for their outreach efforts to secure the award.

Board members thanked Monroe and identified additional grant priorities—such as body camera funding for neighboring jurisdictions—and asked the township’s grant writer to stand with the representative for photographs. The board noted the project had already begun in conjunction with the township’s budget process.
