Selectmen say Locke Lane Beef food truck cannot operate at residence under RRI zoning

Sugar Hill selectmen told Locke Lane Beef on Oct. 6 that its mobile food truck may not operate at the business’s residence on Center District Road because restaurant uses are not allowed in the RRI zoning district.
The board said the business would have to seek a zoning change and undergo site-plan review addressing parking and restroom facilities before operating as a restaurant. The meeting minutes noted that private, noncommercial family events where no charge is collected would be treated differently and do not require the same approvals.
Selectmen did not record any formal vote changing the zoning at the meeting. The board framed the issue as a zoning- and permitting-process matter and indicated additional approvals would be required before the food truck could run as a commercial restaurant at that location.
