Sugar Hill selectmen approve minutes, building permits and rename Marjim Acres to Hillside Acres

At their Sept. 29 meeting the Sugar Hill selectmen unanimously approved the Sept. 22 minutes, several building and driveway permits, and voted to rename the Marjim Acres subdivision to Hillside Acres; the board also set a Tri‑Town meeting and noted several NHDES approvals.
Selectmen Rusty Talbot, Dick Bielefield and Chris Ellms unanimously approved the public and non‑public minutes of Sept. 22 during the Sept. 29 Sugar Hill Selectmen’s meeting. The approval came on a motion by Selectman Rusty Talbot, seconded by Selectman Dick Bielefield.
The board approved several permits pending final conditions from the building official, including an accessory dwelling unit application for Robert Hayward (Map 220, Lot 32) and a new home for Kevin Lally (Map 203, Lot 46). The board also approved a driveway permit for Christos Laganos (Map 211, Lot 3). Town staff reported the town had received NHDES Operation for Construction approvals and an NHDES 90 Construction Approval Extension for items including properties tied to the Greg & Margo Connors Revocable Trust (Map 219, Lot 80; 1064 Route 117), Kevin Lally (Map 203, Lots 24 & 46; 120 Streeter Pond Drive) and the Bonn Revocable Trust (Map 219, Lot 68; 42 Norton Lane).
Selectman Chris Ellms moved to allow the change of the Marjim Acres subdivision name to Hillside Acres; Selectman Rusty Talbot seconded and the motion passed unanimously. The board noted E‑911 will be notified of the new name and that the property owner must pay for the new sign.
Administratively, the board announced it will not meet on Oct. 13, 2025 and will meet with Easton and Franconia for a Tri‑Town meeting on Oct. 20, 2025 at 4:30 p.m. in Franconia. The board also reviewed and compared the last three School Tax Warrants.
With no further public business, Selectman Rusty Talbot moved to adjourn; Selectman Dick Bielefield seconded and the meeting was adjourned at 5:45 p.m. The next regular meeting is Monday, Oct. 6, 2025 at 5:00 p.m. at the Crapo Building.
