The Slinger dog park has secured 501(c)(3) nonprofit status and has raised over $13,000, board member Jennie Stonehouse reported at the Nov. 4 Parks, Recreation & Forestry Board meeting.
Stonehouse said the certification process took roughly seven months and that the group will begin sending donation letters to increase funding. She also said volunteers plan to sell candy and T-shirts outside the library during the election from 1:00–8:00 p.m. to raise additional revenue.
The board noted the fundraising milestone while continuing other agenda business. Stonehouse’s update did not specify how the funds will be allocated; the group plans further fundraising outreach.
