The Village of Slinger Parks, Recreation & Forestry Board on Feb. 3 approved a request to allow Ice Age Trail workers to camp at Fireman’s Park from Sept. 30 through Oct. 5 while they perform trail work.
Recreation Supervisor Elizabeth Van Maanen told the board the group would use park restrooms and shelters during the camping period while performing Ice Age Trail projects in the area. Jeff Behrend moved to allow the camping request and Jennie Stonehouse seconded the motion. The motion passed.
The approval was stated as a permission to camp at Fireman’s Park for the specified dates; no additional conditions or fees were recorded in the minutes. Staff will coordinate use of restrooms and shelters with event organizers as the project dates approach.
