The Bradley Beach Borough Council approved a bundle of consent items and several individual resolutions during the meeting.
The council approved resolution 2026-188, authorizing the mayor and municipal clerk to execute a fiscal-year 2027'through'fiscal-year 2029 cooperative participation agreement with Monmouth County that enables borough access to county community development programs and associated grant opportunities. Council members said the agreement simply renews participation the borough has maintained for several years.
Councilman Nowicki presented Resolution 2026-189 to apply for New Jersey Department of Transportation funding for Park Place Avenue Phase 3. He said the plan coordinates recent sewer reconstruction with roadway resurfacing and uses DOT grant funds for repaving rather than drawing on DEP or borough-reserve funds.
Council also approved resolution 2026-190 to authorize a September 26 block party on the 200 block of 2nd Avenue (rain date Oct. 3), after confirming the 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. time window and police implications.
On resolution 2026-191 the council retroactively ratified permission for Darcy's Tavern to operate late on certain game days. Two council members who said they live within 200 feet of the establishment abstained; the motion otherwise passed.
What happens next: staff will execute the county cooperative agreement to enable grant applications, submit the DOT grant application per the resolution, and permit organizers to plan the block party under the conditions discussed.
