The team is still reconciling soft costs and change orders and expects the high‑school-specific closeout to finish in the next couple of months. "And, again, what you can see here is a projected balance of $6.11," Sam said, adding that the number will change as final reconciliations complete.
Construction and site work are active. Eric, the project presenter, said Narragansett Improvement Company mobilized to remove the track surface and turf and expects to demobilize in roughly two weeks. On the retaining wall, crews have shored the lower wall and are preparing for the upper wall, with Eric noting, "There are 44 piles that get driven into the ground" for the new retaining structure; the piles are being galvanized and were expected on site by the end of the month.
The committee also discussed equity participation tracking: the Chair reported apprenticeship utilization is not currently applicable, and Sam said MB/WBE participation is tracking at about 15.4 percent, a figure the project team expects may shift slightly once final change orders are processed.
What comes next: The project team will continue invoice reconciliation with city staff and the trustee, finalize punch-list items, and proceed with the track and retaining-wall pile driving as mobilization schedules permit. The committee was told the high‑school closeout should complete in the coming months.
