Little Falls approves support for Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad New York Scenic Byway

The Town of Little Falls Board on Feb. 10 unanimously adopted Resolution #24 endorsing the Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad New York Scenic Byway and adopting the corridor management plan.
The resolution notes the steering committee for the proposed 544-mile corridor includes representatives from 22 municipalities and that the designation aims to protect historic, scenic and recreational resources, encourage cooperative stewardship and enhance visitor experience. As part of the adoption, the town confirmed it will not approve new off-premise outdoor advertising signs along the designated route.
Ally Spongr-DeGon, a representative of the Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad Byway administration, attended the meeting to answer questions; board members had none and Ms. Spongr-DeGon thanked the board before leaving. The resolution passed by roll call vote with all members recorded as voting in the affirmative.
