The Hartford Utility Committee unanimously approved a $27,957 contract to replace a rooftop heating and air unit at the city's wastewater facility during its March 2 meeting.
Wastewater Director Dan Dentice said the current unit was inspected during the fall annual maintenance, was found to have failing parts and is about 25 years old. He said replacement was recommended rather than continued repairs.
A motion by Alderperson Kirley, seconded by Alderperson Waldvogel, authorized J&H Heating to install a new Trane rooftop unit for a cost of $27,957. The motion carried unanimously with Members Turchi, Kirley, Waldvogel and Webb recorded as voting yes.
The committee did not specify a funding source in the meeting record. No amendments or follow-up tasks were described on the record; the minutes indicate the committee approved the installation and the meeting adjourned shortly afterward.
The committee adjourned at 6:04 p.m.
