Kole elected chair, DeGaetano vice chair as Dickinson Township board confirms officers and appointments

At its Jan. 5, 2026 organizational meeting, Dickinson Township supervisors unanimously elected Rob Kole chair and Jennifer DeGaetano vice chair, adopted three resolutions including appointing a Sewage Enforcement Officer, and approved a slate of staff and board appointments for 2026.
Rob Kole was elected chairman and Jennifer DeGaetano was chosen vice chair of the Dickinson Township Board of Supervisors during the board's organizational meeting on Jan. 5, 2026, at the Dickinson Township Meeting Room.
The meeting opened at 6:00 p.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance. The Honorable Judge Daniel Freedman administered the Oath of Office to newly elected Supervisor Robert "Bob" Line III and to John Gelinas as Elected Tax Collector before the board moved into nominations. Jennifer DeGaetano nominated Kole for chairman; the nomination was seconded by Supervisor Robert Line and passed unanimously. Kole then nominated DeGaetano for vice chair; that nomination was also seconded by Line and approved unanimously.
The board approved a broad consent agenda establishing township officers and service providers for 2026. The consent agenda named Jill Lovett as Township Manager; Grace Hogue as Secretary/Treasurer; Matthew Boyer as Township Solicitor per the existing representation agreement (no increase for 2026); Kelso Law (Melissa Kelso) as Zoning Hearing Board solicitor at $195 per hour; and C.S. Davidson for township engineering services per the 2026 fee schedule, among other designations. The motion to approve items 10a–10s was recorded as unanimous. (The minutes list Vice Chairperson DeGaetano both as mover and seconder for portions of the consent agenda; that appears to be a clerical inconsistency in the recorded minutes.)
The board adopted Resolution 2026-01 appointing Gilbert Picarelli of KPI Technology as Sewage Enforcement Officer for 2026 and naming Leah Heine and Dominic Picarelli as alternates; the 2026 sewage fee schedule was accepted. The board also adopted Resolution 2026-02 to appoint Robert Gervasio to the Zoning Hearing Board and Resolution 2026-03 to fill a vacancy on the Auditor Board by appointing Ali Tanveer. The meeting record shows the motions and resolutions passed unanimously where votes were recorded.
Administrative policies were confirmed for conventions, employee training reimbursements and expenses, and the board adopted the IRS mileage reimbursement rate effective Jan. 1, 2026 for travel reimbursement. The board approved banks and depositories for township funds (Mid Penn Bank, PLGIT, F&M Trust) and BMO for credit card purposes. The meeting also recorded appointments and reappointments to the Planning Commission, Agricultural Security Board and Municipal Authority; several vacancies were noted.
Judge Freedman administered the Oath of Office to appointed Auditor Ali Tanveer following the board's vote. A motion to adjourn was approved and the meeting ended at 6:19 p.m.
The organizational meeting set leadership and administrative assignments for Dickinson Township for calendar year 2026; several committee vacancies remain to be filled.
