Dickinson Township to advertise ordinance proposing $52 local services tax for 2026

The Dickinson Township Board of Supervisors voted Nov. 5 to authorize advertisement of Ordinance 2025-03, which would impose a Local Services Tax (LST) of $52 per employee per year on persons who work within the township.
Township Manager Jill Lovett told the Board the LST recommendation came from a Strategic Management Study performed last year and that exemptions would be available for part-time workers and active-duty military. She said Dickinson Township is one of the few neighboring townships that currently does not impose the LST.
Vice Chairperson Jennifer DeGaetano moved to approve advertisement of Ordinance 2025-03; Supervisor Robert "Bob" Line III seconded the motion and it passed unanimously. Advertising the ordinance begins the statutory notice and public-comment process before the Board may adopt the ordinance.
If adopted following the public comment period and any required hearings, the LST would apply to employees working within township limits at $52 per year, subject to the exemptions described in the advertisement materials.
