Ephraim planner announces drought pricing starting June 20; traffic signal and new commission appointments discussed

City Planner Megan Spurling and City Manager Katie Witt used the Planning Commission meeting on June 10 to update commissioners on near-term administrative matters including drought water pricing, a possible traffic signal and upcoming appointments.
Spurling and City Engineer Bryan Kimball reviewed requirements and the likely time frame for installation of a traffic signal at 750 South, noting that the project will need to meet transportation standards and take time to complete. Spurling asked commissioners to check email regularly for a crucial meeting notice.
Witt and Spurling announced a new drought pricing structure for water service that will begin on the billing cycle for June 20 and be based on usage tiers; the drought pricing was stated to be scheduled to end in October. Spurling also reminded the commission that Open and Public Meetings Act training must be completed and certificates provided to the planning office.
Spurling closed by announcing two pending Planning Commission appointments: Eddy Christensen and Tyra Taylor are slated to join the board, with formal appointment scheduled at the City Council meeting on June 17.
