Blair Township approves pool-enclosure ordinance, multiple variances and project permits; several items tabled
Summary

The Blair Township Board of Supervisors on Oct. 28 approved a package of routine and project-specific measures, including an ordinance update for swimming pool enclosures, grant and permit paperwork for a local stormwater project, multiple zoning variances and administrative items. Several technical plans and contract approvals were tabled pending additional information.
Key approvals and motions
- Ordinance No. 2025-04 (Swimming Pool Enclosures): Adopted after Solicitor review; the ordinance allows certain safety enclosures that meet Uniform Construction Code standards as exceptions to the Township pool-enclosure requirements. (Motion: Chairman Paul Amigh; Second: Supervisor Brad Germaux; outcome: approved, two yes votes.)
- Brentwood Stormwater Project: Engineer Eric Banks requested signatures on the LSA funding commitment letter and DEP permit applications; the Board approved signing the LSA grant application and the permit applications. - Variances: The Board approved a ten-foot front-setback variance for Darla J. Fagans (2156 Reservoir Road) to allow a walkout landing and stairs, and approved a corrected variance for Scott and Lauren Trimarco (pole building at 1204 Robin Lane). (Approved.)
- Holding Tank Cleaning Contract (Robert Claar / Ken Wertz Hauling and Septic, Inc.): Approved to permit a holding tank consistent with the Sewage Facilities Act of 1966. (Approved.)
- Appointment: Lou Legory was approved as Assistant Road Foreman effective immediately; the Board discussed a possible pay increase but took no action on compensation.
- Contracts: The annual Kuharchik Traffic Signal Maintenance Agreement was approved; the Managed Services Agreements review was tabled pending additional quotes.
