Silver Creek Township supervisors unanimously approve maintenance repairs, engineering contract and routine business

Chairman Mike Helman and the Silver Creek Township Board of Supervisors met Tuesday, June 17, 2025, and unanimously approved a set of routine motions covering agenda approval, minutes, disbursements and several maintenance and contract items.
The board — Chairman Mike Helman, Supervisor Andy Christensen and Supervisor Sandy Forsman — voted 3-0 to approve the meeting agenda (which added an Olson liquor license item to new business and county assessor to old business), the minutes from June 3, 2025, and the list of disbursements. The minutes list audit claims including Cintas, Chamberlin Oil, Menards and TDS by check number.
In maintenance business, Helman moved and Christensen seconded a motion that township employees will not work on June 19; the board carried the motion 3-0. The board also approved up to $10,000 for loader repairs on a 3-0 vote.
On old business, Supervisor Andy Christensen moved to continue using the Wright County Assessors for assessor services; Supervisor Sandy Forsman seconded and the motion carried 3-0. The minutes state the board will look into other options in the future but record no further detail.
Under new business, Helman moved and Christensen seconded approval to retain Otto for engineering services with a not-to-exceed cap of $30,000; the measure passed 3-0. The board also approved up to $500 to repair the township hall video and audio system, again on a 3-0 vote.
