County approves routine contracts, bids and community donation; budget review set for public hearing

At the July 8 meeting Franklin County Commissioners conducted a package of administrative approvals and routine votes.
The board accepted a low electrical bid of $39,850 from S & T Electric for electrical work on the courthouse floor (motion by Dirk Bowles; second Boyd Burbank; unanimous). Commissioners approved a $500 donation to the Napoleon Fest in Preston after hearing from Ashley Nate, who said more than 1,000 tickets had been sold for the July event. The board also signed Memoranda of Agreement to support the Community Based Alternative Services Program and the Substance Use Disorder Services Program and approved a Master Agreement with Computer Arts to continue Treasurer and Recording software licenses and retain Indigent software for another year; County Attorney Vic Pearson reviewed those agreements.
Commissioners reviewed county bills and approved payment, and they approved June 24, 2024 minutes. Boyd Burbank reported that fiber installation to the Robinson Building was delayed to July 12 and that the conduit and wiring at the rodeo arena are complete; the county will invoice the Rodeo Committee for two months of service at $150 per month for 500 Mbps.
Clerk Camille Larsen presented the Fiscal Year 2025 budget worksheet and said department budget requests could be fulfilled; she will prepare public hearing notices for the August 26 commissioner meeting. The board adjourned at 12:18 p.m.
