Blair Township accepts $101,271 CDBG award, earmarks $83,046 for Reservoir Road sewer laterals

Trina Illig, Blair County CDBG grant coordinator, told the Blair Township Board of Supervisors on Oct. 21 that the township was awarded $101,271 for Fiscal Year 2025 and that the board had voted to direct $83,046 of that award to installation of residential sewer laterals for income‑eligible residents as part of the Reservoir Road Sanitary Sewer Expansion project. Illig also said the county would receive the remaining $18,225 to cover administrative expenses.
The board unanimously approved Resolution No. 202510 to submit the FY2025 CDBG application and authorized a township signature on the county‑prepared application form. The board also approved the annual cooperative agreement with Blair County to administer the FY2025 CDBG program.
Supervisors framed the funding allocation as targeted to make sewer service accessible to income‑eligible households served by the Reservoir Road project while complying with county administration requirements. The board additionally approved Resolution No. 2025‑11, a fair‑housing resolution that the minutes record alongside the CDBG approvals.
The signature authorization was described as a ministerial action to allow the county‑prepared application to be filed on behalf of the township. With those approvals complete the township will proceed with the application filing and cooperative administration under the terms approved at the meeting.
The board took the CDBG‑related votes without dissent and moved to other agenda items; no public comment was offered during the meeting’s public‑comment period.
