Residents praise Brooks Mills park upkeep; Second Amendment group thanks board for tabling ordinance

Public comment at the Aug. 12 Blair Township supervisors meeting included praise for a township park and remarks about a recently tabled ordinance.
Resident Ralph Galbraith told the board that the Brooks Mills play park "looks beautiful" and thanked the township for upkeep; he also recounted a nearby police pursuit and said he had covered an open water well with a metal stair tread to prevent injury, using a "Lassie" analogy about "Timmy falling in the well" to illustrate the safety risk. "I will be ever vigilant," Galbraith said.
Bonita Shreve, identified as president of the Blair County Second Amendment Coalition, thanked the board for tabling the ordinance at the July 29 meeting and expressed appreciation for the supervisors protecting residents' rights. Resident Renee Wineland also thanked the board for listening to the community.
Chairman Paul Amigh clarified that the board had chosen to table the ordinance rather than defeat it and told the meeting that the board would not un-table the item in order to vote it down. When attendee Matt Mannon cited Title 34 of Pennsylvania law related to the State Game Commission, Amigh reminded the room that enforcement of Game Commission law lies with the State Game Commission.
