The Department of Engineering and Water Resources presented the proposal from PPR Energy Solutions, which includes two dual‑port chargers, installation, design work and five years of network support. The DEC grant covers 75% of eligible costs up to $50,148; the town will cover the remaining $15,295.20, to be transferred from local funds (the tech fund or capital budget, as discussed).
“We hereby request authorization to approve the PPR Energy Solutions proposal for the purchase and installation of Blink EV chargers at the town hall for $65,443.20,” the engineering representative said during the presentation. Board members discussed whether the town share should come from the capital fund or the technology fund before approving a motion with a recorded second to adopt the resolution and authorize the transfer.
Board members voted by roll call and the measure passed with all voting members recorded as aye. The project team noted the cost has risen since the project was first proposed in 2021, and that this award reflects updated pricing and available grant funding.
The town will proceed with the purchase and installation; the contract includes five years of network support. The board did not set a construction start date during the meeting.
