Houston council appoints Chelsye Scantlin to fill Ward I vacancy

Morgan Patterson, president of the Houston Chamber of Commerce, asked that police and fire personnel be present for the community derby scheduled for Sept. 6, 2025, starting at 7:00 p.m. Brad Rees, chairman of the Industrial Development Authority (IDA), said he would speak on agenda item 10 regarding a renaming request tied to an IDA property acquisition.
