Hamilton council renews RedSpeed contract, approves FY2025 amendments and FY2026 budget

Hamilton’s City Council unanimously approved a multi-year renewal of the RedSpeed contract and adopted amendments to the FY2025 budget before voting to adopt the FY2026 budget during its Dec. 10, 2025, open meeting.
The council voted to renew the RedSpeed contract on a motion from Councilor Nancy Wall, seconded by Councilor Fields. The motion passed unanimously; all members were present except Councilor Greg Allen.
Council also approved several FY2025 General fund adjustments and a Water & Sewer amendment. City staff presented specific General fund increases: HCH General Supplies $4,500; HCH Tech Services/Licensing/Website $3,500; HCH Windows 10 upgrade $2,500; HCH Electricity $14,000; and an HFD VM/2025 optional service plan of $8,000. The Water & Sewer amendment was listed at $15,000. Councilor Fields moved to approve the 2025 budget amendment for water/sewer and general; Mayor Pro Tem Alvin Howard seconded. The council approved the amendment by unanimous vote.
On the FY2026 budget, Councilor Fields moved to adopt the budget, citing position changes and cost-of-living adjustments included in the proposed plan. Mayor Pro Tem Alvin Howard seconded; the council voted unanimously to approve the FY2026 budget.
All formal motions recorded in the minutes carried by unanimous vote. The meeting closed after routine housekeeping and an attorney’s recommendation to schedule a January work session on city ordinances.
