City Manager Garcia told the Denison City Council on May 5 that the city's solid waste hauler contract expires July 1, 2026. Curt Snyder of Carroll Refuse outlined the proposed contract extension and the expected cost increases.
Council members said they wanted more time to review the proposal and agreed to table the discussion. Council also voted to table discussion of Ordinance 105.17 (Solid Waste Control and Recycling) so the ordinance can be updated to reflect proposed contract changes.
No contract extensions or ordinance amendments were adopted at the meeting. Council indicated staff should return with revised contract language and ordinance changes for future consideration.
