At its Oct. 17 meeting the Hainesport Township Board of Education approved routine financial and operational items, including monthly Board Secretary and Treasurer reports for August and September, appropriation adjustments, certification of funds, and payment of bills. The board also approved continuing membership in the TIPS interlocking purchasing contract and authorized staff to apply for SEMI for the 2023-24 school year.
The board accepted a School Safety Grant from the New Jersey Schools Insurance Group (NJSIG) in the amount of $2,000. Finance/Facilities Committee Chair Larry Brandolph presented the package of items and roll-call votes were recorded for each motion. The board also authorized the use of REM Audiology for as-needed audiological testing and approved submission of the New Jersey Holocaust Education mandated survey.
In addition, the board approved several field trips and use-of-facilities requests for 2023-24 and 2024 (including a 7th-grade trip to Medieval Times in May 2024 with an $80 per-student fee) and recorded recent safety drills (fire drill Oct. 5 and bus evacuation drills Oct. 16). Specific budget line items and total cost impacts for these approvals were not detailed in the minutes.
