Hainesport board hears PTO and student government updates, offers acknowledgements and sets calendar notes

During the Dec. 10 Hainesport Township Board of Education meeting, the PTO reported plans for a book fair, winter break parties and a Chipotle dine-out fundraiser. Student Government representative Brianna Aguilar announced student activities including Toys for Tots, a card drive for Richetti, Winter Funderland on Dec. 17 and a winter dance on Jan. 24, 2025.
There were no formal recognitions or presentations listed. In new business, several board members publicly thanked Jill Ormsby for her years of service; other acknowledgements included thanks to Trooper Warren and recognition of the drama club. The board noted an upcoming half day on Dec. 20, 2024, to begin the district’s winter break.
The meeting included two public-comment windows (an action-items-only period and a general public-participation period); motions to open and close those periods were recorded and carried. The meeting adjourned at 7:22 p.m.
