The Hainesport Township Board of Education approved a slate of routine personnel, finance and state-reporting items at its Oct. 15, 2024 regular meeting.
The board voted to approve minutes from the Sept. 24 meeting and accepted superintendent-recommended reports, including the monthly HIB report, the code of conduct, the enrollment report and the nurse’s report. The board also authorized the superintendent to hire personnel to fill vacancies between meetings, contingent on criminal-history clearance and proper certification.
Human Resources items approved included the hire of Gavin Laird as a lunch/recess aide (.48 FTE), retroactive to Oct. 11, 2024, and approvals that ratified leave modifications and staffing arrangements. The board also approved teaching staff as homebound instructors for 2024–25, coverage of classes during prep periods at hourly rates, and stipends for Alyssa Smith, Rachel James and Tyler Kazmierowicz for riding the PreK bus.
On finance and facilities matters the board accepted the Board Secretary’s and Treasurer’s monthly reports, an appropriation adjustment journal and the payment-of-bills report. The board approved multiple use-of-facilities requests and several field trips, contingent on submission of required documentation such as proof of insurance.
The district also voted to continue membership in TIPS (The Interlocal Purchasing Contract), and accepted a Memorandum of Understanding with the New Jersey Office of Emergency Management related to FEMA Public Assistance and Hazard Mitigation grant applications. The board accepted the 2023 revisions to the Uniform State Memorandum of Agreement Between Education and Law Enforcement Officials.
Finally, the board authorized submission of three required state forms by resolution: the Preschool Program Annual Update (Resolution 2024-25 #11), the Statement of Assurance for the Health & Safety Evaluation of School Building Checklist (Resolution 2024-25 #12), and Form M-1 with the Comprehensive Maintenance Plan (Resolution 2024-25 #13). The minutes record that each motion carried by roll call; specific vote tallies and individual board votes are not specified in the minutes text.
All items were listed as carried in the meeting roll-call sections; no substantive debate or amendments to the listed items are recorded in the minutes. The meeting adjourned at 7:53 p.m.
