Board renews governmental affairs contract with Krieg DeVault LLP

The City of Lawrence Board of Public Works and Safety approved a renewal of its governmental affairs agreement with Krieg DeVault LLP at the July 9 meeting.
Amy Levander, who identified herself as the firm's executive director for government affairs, told the board she had represented the city during the recent legislative session and cited relationship-building and work to defeat legislation harmful to the city. Levander said the renewal does not increase the contract fee.
A board member asked why the contract appeared to reflect a January 1 start; Levander said the firm had provided services beginning January 1 and the renewal covers the 2026 calendar year. The board moved, seconded and approved the agreement by voice vote.
