The Earlham City Council on Feb. 9 approved a $9,001.79 deposit to Hello Garage to reserve flooring and an installation date for the Community Building following a presentation from the Community Building board.
Heather McLaughlin, speaking for the board, answered council concerns about floor slipperiness and warranty. McLaughlin said Hello Garage is offering a "15-year warranty to cover the flooring" and that to address slipperiness the vendor "would be adding more sand to the top layer to help prevent slipperiness." Councilmember Fredericksen moved approval of the deposit and Councilmember Mudge seconded; the motion passed unanimously.
The payment secures the price and installation date; the council did not record further contract terms in the meeting. Staff have been tasked to schedule the installation and confirm warranty terms as follow-up steps.
