Commission approves $6,500 roof repair; 911 dispatchers training continues as EMS salary funding remains uncertain

Rick Gillespie, Emergency Services Coordinator, told the commission the three new 911 dispatchers are “working well and continuing their training” and that two additional applications are in process pending background checks; interviews will be scheduled once the background checks are complete.
Commissioners also heard an update on county facilities. Project work on the Courthouse Annex is on schedule, with concrete for the second floor slated to be poured Thursday, the minutes show. Separately, Mike Alt reported that the Governor is still not considering any additional funding for the EMS Salary Enhancement fund.
The minutes do not record estimated repair timelines for the handicap ramp work or new hire start dates for the dispatchers.
